Our teeth
have a “shell” called enamel to protect them. A tooth’s “shell” is similar to
the one of an egg. We put an egg in water, two in coke and two in vinegar till
the following day.
RESULTS:
The eggs in
coke were stained.
The ones in
vinegar were soft and had lost their shell.
The egg in
water hadn't changed.
Bacteria in
our mouth form a sticky material called plaque. These bacteria “eat” the sugar
and food in the mouth and form acids like vinegar. These acids break the
“shell” that protects our teeth and cavities can “attack” them.
